My friend Nalyn introduced me to another resto this year 🙂 Tonkatsuya located in Makati will serve your appetite for Japanese food. From the name itself, their specialty must be tonkatsu – so that should be the number one in our order list.
Tonkatsu is a Japanese food which consists of a breaded, deep fried pork cutlet (either loin or fillet) often served with shredded cabbage. Tonkatsu originated in Japan in the 19th century. As well as being served as a single dish, it is also used as a sandwich filling or in combination with curry. (Thanks wikipedia)
Anton Diaz in his blog http://www.ourawesomeplanet.com named the restaurant as one having the best tonkatsu in Manila.
Just see and taste the dish for yourself 😉
For those who prefer chicken than pork, they also have a chicken katsu set. You can even cook and serve this at home.

Now what I love most from the meal I had were these sets of salad! Serving per salad would be good for 2-3 people.
Yasai and Kani salad are just a few of Japanese salads but these two are most popular on the menu of the Japanese restaurants here. Check out more salad recipes on http://features.best100japan.com/tag/japanese-salads
If you’re really hungry, or simply love to eat, try their curry rice. Add some tempura and sashimi to compete your meal.
Wait, something’s missing? Where’s sushi and maki?
Aah.. you won’t notice when you get there since you’ll most likely leave the place full and satisfied!
